Mark Armstrong is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Design at Monash University, recognized as a leading industrial designer in Australia. He is a Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia and part of the Design Hall of Fame. His work focuses on Medtech innovation through the Health Collab research group, contributing to projects like the Gennaris Bionic Eye and the Sensate Foot Project. He has secured Registered Design status for medical devices and currently supervises three Industrial Design PhD candidates.
Armstrong founded Blue Sky, a prominent design consultancy serving clients such as Qantas, Cochlear, and ResMed. His research emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, integrating design excellence with healthcare challenges. Key achievements include patents for medical devices and awards like the Good Design Award (2000) and Red Dot Design Award (2010).
