Professor Mark Andrews serves at Duquesne University's College of Osteopathic Medicine with over thirty years of distinguished academic service at both allopathic and osteopathic institutions. Most recently, he spent 24 years at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) where he held multiple leadership positions including Director of the Independent Study Pathway, Director of Examination Management and Evaluation, and Director of Physiology. Previously, he served as Director of Physiology at the NY Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Andrews specializes in medical education with particular expertise in physiology, curriculum development, and preparation for national medical licensure examinations. His work focuses on ensuring quality integrated basic and clinical science education while developing lifelong learning skills in medical students. He has extensive experience with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and independent study curricula, working closely with students and faculty to enhance educational outcomes.
His scholarly contributions demonstrate a consistent focus on medical education research and innovation. The publications reveal evolving interests from foundational medical education principles (2010) through technological integration in assessment (2015) to contemporary osteopathic medical education practices (2019). His work consistently addresses critical challenges in medical training, particularly regarding examination preparation and curriculum integration.

He serves as Associate Editor for Medical Science Educator and the Journal of Orthopedic Clinical Studies and Advanced Research, and is a consulting faculty member and author for First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 and its Osteopathic Medicine Supplement.
