Mark A. Yarhouse, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist and the Dr. Arthur P. Rech and Mrs. Jean May Rech Professor of Psychology at Wheaton College. He directs the Sexual and Gender Identity (SGI) Institute and the Mental Health Collective, focusing on intersections of religious, sexual, and gender identities.

His research explores sexual/gender identity conflicts in Christian contexts, including transgender experiences, same-sex attraction, and faith integration. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed works and 20+ books, with recent studies examining identity synthesis in religious environments.
Scientific awards include the Gary Collins Award for Excellence in Christian Counseling and a Christianity Today 2024 Book Award finalist nod. He has served on APA consensus panels and advised the National Institute of Corrections.
