Mark A. Snyder is a Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Lehigh University and Associate Dean for Graduate Education in the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science. He holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and has been recognized with multiple awards for teaching and research excellence.
- B.S., Chemical Engineering, Lehigh University (2000)
- Ph.D., Chemical Engineering, University of Delaware (2006)
- Postdoctoral Associate, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, University of Minnesota (2006–2008)
His research focuses on the design and engineering of functional inorganic nanoparticles and hierarchically porous materials for applications in molecular separations, catalysis, alternative energy, and biological systems. Key synthetic thrusts include sustainable nanoparticle synthesis and template-mediated nanocasting strategies.
Notable scientific awards include the NSF CAREER Award (2014), ACS Petroleum Research Fund Doctoral New Investigator Award (2010), and multiple Lehigh University teaching honors. He leads the Laboratory for Porous and Functional Nanomaterials, emphasizing multi-scale materials design and interfacial phenomena.
