Mark A Cervinski

Mark A Cervinski, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Dartmouth College's Geisel School of Medicine, where he serves as Director of Clinical Chemistry and Director of Point-Of-Care Testing at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. A Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and Fellow of the AACC Academy, Dr. Cervinski has been with the institution since 2009 when he joined as an Assistant Professor following completion of his Clinical Chemistry Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine.

His research focuses on innovative approaches to clinical laboratory quality management, particularly patient-based real-time quality control (PBRTQC), laboratory test utilization optimization, and improving diagnostic testing efficiency. Dr. Cervinski has published extensively on quality control methodologies, immunoassay performance, toxicology testing, and serological assay validation.

His recent publications (2022-2025) demonstrate continued leadership in clinical chemistry, with emphasis on PBRTQC advancements, opioid testing methodologies, SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics, and addressing analytical challenges in clinical laboratory testing. His work spans both original research articles and influential review papers that shape laboratory medicine practice.

Dr. Cervinski's scientific contributions are recognized through his Diplomate status with the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and his Fellowship in the AACC Academy. His leadership extends to directing the ComACC Accredited Clinical Chemistry Fellowship Program and lecturing in the Geisel School of Medicine General Pathology Course.
