Marjorie Olmstead is a Professor of Physics and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at the University of Washington, Seattle. She also serves as Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel and Faculty Affairs. Her research focuses on crystalline interfaces between dissimilar materials and ultra-thin films, with prior leadership roles in the multidisciplinary PhD program in nanotechnology and as associate chair of the undergraduate physics program. She holds a Ph.D. (1985) and M.S. (1982) in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. (1979) in Physics from Swarthmore College.
