Marjan Jovanov is a Full Professor at the Institute of Art History and Archaeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He has served as the head of the Institute from 2014 to 2021 and is actively involved in domestic and international archaeological projects. His research focuses on ancient archaeology, funerary practices, and material culture in the Balkans and Macedonia.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Art History and Archaeology (1991, University of St. Cyril and Methodius)
- Master's in Archaeology (2001, same university)
- PhD in Archaeology (2009, same university)
Research Interests:
- Ancient archaeology and art
- Ancient toreutics (metalwork)
- Funerary customs in antiquity
- Roman and Paionian cultural patterns
