Mariz Abdou Kalliny

Mariz Abdou Kalliny is a PhD Candidate at the Center for Studies and Research on International Development (CERDI) at Université Clermont Auvergne, affiliated with CNRS and IRD. She concurrently holds an Assistant Lecturer position in the Economics Department at Cairo University's Faculty of Economics and Political Science, though currently on leave from this teaching role.

Her research program examines the complex interrelationships between global economic structures and development outcomes. Dr. Kalliny investigates how exchange rate dynamics, digitalization, and institutional quality affect countries' participation in global value chains, with particular attention to gender dimensions and women's economic empowerment in developing economies. Her methodological approach combines quantitative economic analysis with development theory.
