Marius Rehn

Marius Rehn is a Professor II at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Prehospital Services. He is a consultant anesthesiologist at Oslo University Hospital (OUS), working at the air ambulance department in Lørenskog and the anesthesiology department at Rikshospitalet. He also serves as editor-in-chief of the Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine.

His research and clinical work focus on pre-hospital critical care, with emphasis on early identification and treatment of critical illness and injury, optimal organization of air ambulance services, and safe transport of vulnerable patients such as neonates and intensive care patients. His academic background includes training as a medical doctor at the University of Oslo, specialization in anesthesiology, and prior military experience as a clearance diver and winch man on search and rescue helicopters. He also gained pre-hospital experience with London's Air Ambulance.

His recent publications reflect a strong trend in pre-hospital emergency medicine, covering areas such as trauma care, pain management, resuscitation techniques (including REBOA and defibrillation), airway management, major incident response, and guideline development. Many of his works involve systematic reviews, protocol development, and international collaborations, particularly within Scandinavian emergency medicine networks.
