His research centers on sustainability transitions, energy use, renewable energy systems, consumer practices, and sufficiency, particularly in the context of China and Norway. He explores how socio-material practices shape energy and food systems, with attention to justice, inclusion, and policy implications. His work integrates Technology, Innovation and Society (TIS) perspectives and public engagement.
His recent publications (2022–2025) reflect a strong trend in energy citizenship, meat and dairy consumption, prosumerism, and sufficiency. These articles analyze low-income energy practices, policy injustices, and cultural dynamics in food and energy transitions. The research is interdisciplinary, combining social science, environmental studies, and policy analysis.
