Marius Grønning serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), where he functions as an architect, urbanist, researcher, and teacher in spatial planning. He concurrently holds the position of vice leader for SITRAP (Centre for Integrated and Transdisciplinary Education in Planning).
His research spans critical domains including:

- Transdisciplinary education frameworks
- Urban morphology as interdisciplinary practice
Grønning teaches core courses such as Place Development (LAA200), Comprehensive Area Planning (APL200), European Urbanity and Urban Planning (APL260), and Urban Morphology as an Interdisciplinary Approach (SDP420). His research focuses on innovative planning support systems, notably the Twin Fjord project which develops digital twin technology for sustainable area management through participatory approaches.
