Angel Burov

Dr. Angel Burov is a Chief Assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Urban Planning at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria. He teaches various courses in urban planning at both bachelor's and master's levels, including Urban Environment Analysis, Environment and Sustainable Development, Spatial Planning Systems in Europe, and Urban Reconstruction Project.

His educational background includes:

• Doctorate (2013-2015) on "Spatial planning of peripheral rural areas in Bulgaria. The example of the South Central Region" from UACEG
• Master of Urban Planning (2006-2008) from UACEG
• Bachelor of Urban Planning (2002-2006) from UACEG
• Additional training in scientific research conceptualization and project proposal development (2014)

Dr. Burov's research focuses on integrated urban and regional planning, sustainable development, and urban ecology. His work explores socio-ecological resilience, healthy urban environments, and creative approaches to urban renewal. He investigates the relationships between natural and cultural landscapes, urban biodiversity, and non-motorized mobility systems. His research also addresses municipal empowerment, multi-level governance, and socio-spatial networks in urban contexts.

His work spans urban morphology, mobility patterns, urban agriculture, and the integration of nature-based solutions in social housing neighborhoods.
