Marius Faiß

Marius Faiß is a doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior, affiliated with the Department for the Ecology of Animal Societies under the Research Group Strandburg-Peshkin. His work bridges bioacoustics, evolutionary biology, and machine learning.

Marius previously studied sound production and vocal learning in songbirds and hummingbirds at Universität Münster, followed by investigating visual cues in zebra finch call exchanges using robotic birds at Leiden University during his master's. He further contributed to compiling high-quality datasets of grasshopper and cicada sounds for species classification projects.
