Marissa Vogt is a Senior Research Scientist at the BU Center for Space Physics, Boston University. Her research focuses on planetary magnetic fields, ionospheres, and auroras, with particular emphasis on Jupiter's magnetosphere and aurora dynamics. She collaborates with NASA’s Juno mission and the MAVEN mission to Mars, analyzing data from Jupiter and Mars orbital missions. Vogt has held an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship (2016-2018) and co-led an international ISSI team studying solar wind interactions with Jupiter and Saturn’s magnetospheres.
Education: PhD (2012) and MS (2009) in Geophysics and Space Physics from UCLA. Affiliated with multiple departments including Astronomy, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University.
Her work integrates mission data from Galileo, Juno, and MAVEN to understand planetary space environments. Recent projects include studying the solar wind’s impact on magnetospheres and contributing to lunar telescope initiatives and extraterrestrial life research.
