Professor Marisa Miraldo is a Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the Department of Economics and Public Policy, Imperial Business School, and Co-Director of the School of Convergence Science in Health and Technology. She is Academic Director of the MSc in Global Health Management. Her work focuses on behavioral interventions for health promotion and the economics of healthcare innovation, leading interdisciplinary projects globally. She holds affiliations with multiple centers including the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation, Climate and Health, and the Vaccine Research Network.
Research Interests: Public Health Policy, Behavioral Economics, Healthcare Innovation Economics, and Global Health Systems. She leads projects such as the Global Health Research Unit (GHRU) on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease in South Asians and the Jameel Institute’s workstream on pandemic preparedness economics.
- Editorial roles: Associate Editor for the Journal of Behavioural and Experimental Economics; Editorial Board member for BMJ Public Health and BMC Medicine.
- ED&I Leadership: Founded the Gender Equity Committee at Imperial College Business School; Co-Lead of the ICL Women’s Health Initiative.
- Education: PhD in Economics (York University), MSc in Economics and Finance (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), MA in Economics (Université Catholique de Louvain), BSc in Economics (Universidade Católica Portuguesa).
Awards: Julia Higgins Award for EDI contributions. Advisory roles include the Global Development Hub and the Centre for Translational Nutrition and Food Research.
