Marios Stylianou

Dr. Marios Stylianou is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Nicosia and Coordinator of the Aesthetics Study Programme at Intercollege (affiliated with the University of Nicosia). He holds a PhD in Synthetic Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Cyprus (2007), followed by postdoctoral research and lecturing roles there. Since 2009, he has taught Chemistry courses at the University of Nicosia, including Medical, Pharmacy, and Human Biology programs.

His research focuses on synthesizing molecular models to study metalloenzyme-protein interactions involving phenolic derivatives in electron transfer mechanisms. He specializes in techniques like X-ray Crystallography, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), and Electrochemical methods. He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and presented at international conferences.

Dr. Stylianou actively mentors student thesis projects in Biological/Synthetic Chemistry and Cosmetology. He is a member of the Hellenic Cosmetology Society, American Chemical Society, and IFSCC (International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists).
