Marion Vannier is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Manchester and a Research Associate at the University of Oxford. Her work explores the sociology of punishment, human rights, and life imprisonment, drawing on legal practice, international tribunals, and asylum adjudication. She authored Normalising Punishment: The Case of Life Without Parole in California (2021) and received the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship.
