معرفی
Marion Cooley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences at the Dental College of Georgia, Augusta University. She received her PhD in Biology from the University of South Carolina and conducted postdoctoral research on cell adhesion at UNC Chapel Hill and the Medical University of South Carolina. Her work focuses on the extracellular matrix (ECM) regulation of bone formation and vascular stability.
- PhD, Biology, University of South Carolina (1996)
- BS, Biology, University of South Carolina (1986)
Dr. Cooley’s research explores how the ECM orchestrates cellular behaviors such as adhesion, migration, and differentiation during development and disease. Her recent publications examine ECM dynamics in vascular remodeling, obesity-related periodontal inflammation, and musculoskeletal repair mechanisms.
Her work spans disciplines including Bone Biology, Vascular Medicine, and Molecular Mechanotransduction, with a focus on translational applications for tissue repair and disease pathology.
She serves on the Institutional Chemical Safety Committee and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Her teaching includes courses in craniofacial development, endocrine systems, and biomedical foundations.
