Mariola Marczak

Mariola Marczak, PhD, DSc is a Professor at the Department of Media Research, Institute of Journalism and Social Communication of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. A scholar of international acclaim, her research focuses on media and audiovisual arts through aesthetic, ethical, metaphysical, religious, and communication lenses. She contributes to the "Media–Culture–Social Communication" journal and has supervised 1 doctoral student while mentoring 1 researcher under supervision.

Her research spans Polish and international reception of Krzysztof Zanussi's work, communication potential of audiovisual messages, and empirical studies on media. She has contributed to understanding religious and metaphysical narratives in Polish cinema and the cultural competence of the Church in visual arts. Her work includes analysis of hagiographic film structures, contemporary women's freedom in Cannes films, and Shakespearean adaptations as interpretative frameworks. She emphasizes securing research funds through grant projects for doctoral supervision and infrastructure needs.
