Mario Daniele Amore serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Strategy and Operations at Bocconi University, where he leads research in corporate governance and strategic management. He directs the MISA Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy (Imprenditorialità e Strategia Aziendale), a 12-month full-time Italian-language program focused on developing ambidextrous leadership skills for managing business value and innovation-driven change.
His research centers on family business dynamics, examining CEO succession, patenting strategies, cultural influences, and entrepreneurial finance. Key investigations include how family ownership affects corporate venture capital, alliance formation, and strategic disclosure of intellectual property. His work bridges theoretical rigor with practical applications for sustaining competitive advantage in family-controlled enterprises.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal a concentrated exploration of family firm governance, with empirical studies on CEO hiring biases, patent ambiguity, and innovation drivers. These works consistently employ quantitative methodologies across disciplines including strategic management, finance, and organizational behavior, highlighting cross-cutting themes of leadership continuity and intellectual property strategy.
Professor Amore's scholarly contributions have earned significant recognition:
- Eight consecutive Excellence in Research Awards from Bocconi University (2014-2023)
- Multiple Best Reviewer Awards from Strategic Management Journal (2018, 2019) and Corporate Governance: An International Review (2020)
- Nominations for International Corporate Governance Society Best Paper Awards (2018, 2019)
- Runner-Up Award at the Auckland Finance Conference (2014)
As Director of the MISA Master program, he actively mentors emerging business leaders while maintaining an influential research trajectory. His editorial review roles for top journals demonstrate ongoing commitment to academic discourse, supported by Bocconi University's research infrastructure despite unlisted external grants.
