Dr. Marina Green is a Research Fellow and Research Lead at the School of Health Sciences, affiliated with the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland at South East Technological University. She holds a PhD in micronutrients and targeted nutrition (2021) and a medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2011). Her expertise spans Internal Medicine, with a focus on the impact of micronutrients like carotenoids and omegas on human health, metabolism, and public health policy.
Research Interests: Dr. Green investigates the role of micronutrients in visual function, cognitive performance, and cardiovascular health. Her work bridges nutrition science and clinical applications, emphasizing lifestyle interventions and public health initiatives. She collaborates on studies like the COAST project exploring carotenoid bioavailability.
Grants & Supervision: She secured grants for her doctoral research and currently supervises master’s and PhD students. Notable collaborations include a partnership with Solas for research on health policies. Her h-index of 29 reflects significant contributions to peer-reviewed articles in ophthalmology, nutrition, and cardiovascular fields.
