Marin Soljačić is the Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), affiliated with the Research Laboratory of Electronics and the Condensed Matter Theory Group. His research focuses on nanophotonics, nonlinear optics, and applying artificial intelligence to scientific challenges.
Education: PhD in Physics from Princeton University (2000), BS/MS in Physics and Electrical Engineering from MIT (1996). Born in Zagreb, Croatia, he completed his K-12 education there.
His work spans quantum vacuum manipulation, nanoscale electromagnetism, and AI-driven physics innovations. Notable achievements include founding WiTricity (wireless power transfer) and Lightelligence (AI hardware), and pioneering studies on Weyl points and soliton phenomena.
