Professor Marilynn Johnson is a historian at Boston College's Department of History, specializing in modern U.S. urban history, immigration patterns, and social dynamics. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University and previously earned a B.A. from Stanford University. Her research examines topics such as police violence, labor conflicts in the American West, and immigrant communities in Boston since the 1960s. She currently directs the Global Boston digital history project, documenting the city’s immigration history.
