Marilyne Huchet is a Lecturer in economics at the Institut Agro Rennes-Angers, where she is affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences and the UMR SMART research unit (Agricultural structures and markets, resources and territories). She serves as Deputy Director of Research in charge of doctoral studies.
Her research focuses on international trade with emphasis on:
- Trade and developing countries, including trade agreements and food security
- Circular economy applications in agriculture
- Determinants and developments in trade and agricultural and food prices
- European and developing country contexts, particularly applied to agricultural and agri-food sectors
Huchet's scholarly work shows a strong focus on Brexit's impact on agricultural and food trade between the UK and EU, as well as broader international trade patterns in agricultural products. Her recent publications demonstrate expertise in applying economic models to real-world agricultural trade issues across multiple high-impact journals.
Marilyne Huchet regularly supervises doctoral students and teaches macroeconomics, economic policies, and global food issues at the Institut Agro Rennes-Angers and other institutions, bridging theoretical economic principles with practical applications in food systems and agricultural markets.
