Marilyn Russell, MSN, RN, CNE, is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing department at Clarkson College, where she has taught since 2009. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College. Her roles include Clinical Coordinator for Population Health courses (NS 476-477 and NS 461-462) and mentor for the Gateway to Success Scholarship for Minority Nursing Students.

Her research interests focus on public health nursing, curriculum development, and infectious disease management. She has spearheaded curriculum revisions for Clarkson’s Population Health courses, with phased implementation from 2019–2021. Additionally, she contributed to the STEM Champion Committee’s externship policy manual and oversees nursing program assessments via the BSN Evaluation/Assessment Committee.
Awards include the 2010 Nebraska Nurses Association award and 2008 Omaha Black Nurses Association recognition for nursing education excellence.
She actively participates in professional organizations such as Sigma Theta Tau International and the National League of Nursing. Her involvement in campus committees includes the Nursing Assembly Curriculum Committee (2016–2018) and the Building Healthy Futures Vision Nurse Advisory Board (2017).
