Marike Hettinga

Marike Hettinga serves as Professor (Lector) of ICT Innovations in Healthcare at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences since 2008, focusing on multidisciplinary integration of information technology within healthcare systems.

• Engineering degree in Computer Science combined with Philosophy of Science, Technology, and Society from Twente University of Applied Sciences

Professor Hettinga's research centers on the design, development, embedding, financing, and scaling of digital care solutions. She investigates user-technology interfaces, translates clinical requirements into technical specifications, and conducts experimental evaluations of telecare implementations. Her work emphasizes remote physician collaboration systems and patient-facing telehealth applications, with particular attention to organizational adoption challenges and structural embedding of innovations.
