Marika Apostolova

Marika Apostolova is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). She holds a PhD in Technical Sciences from the University of Ss. Cyril And Methodius and has over 17 years of academic experience, including roles as Director of the eLearning Center at South East European University and Pro Dean of the Faculty for Contemporary Sciences and Technologies. Her research focuses on semantic web technologies, eLearning systems, cybersecurity in IoT, and blockchain applications. Dr. Apostolova has authored numerous publications in conferences such as MECO, MIPRO, and ICICT, and has received accolades including the 2025 Maverick Community Impact Award and the Morning Star Motivational Award (2024).
