Marija Mrdaković is a Principal Research Fellow at the Department of Insect Physiology and Biochemistry, Institute for Biological Research 'Siniša Stanković', part of the University of Belgrade. She has worked at the institute since 1998, contributing to environmental stress research on economically significant insect species.
Education:
- Graduated from Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade (1997)
- Master's degree, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade (2003)
- PhD, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade (2010)
Research Focus: Her work centers on Ecotoxicology and Ecophysiology, investigating how chemical/physical stressors impact insect physiology across biological levels. She identifies biochemical biomarkers for pollution monitoring and studies adaptation mechanisms in polyphagous phytophagous insects, with applications in environmental risk assessment and the 'EU Green Agenda in Serbia' waste biotransformation projects.
Professional Affiliations:
- Entomological Society of Serbia
