Marielena Groos

Marielena Groos is a researcher at the University of Osnabrück's Institute of Educational Science, specializing in Social Pedagogy with a Focus on Racism Research. She joined IMIS in May 2025 after serving as Research Associate since October 2024.

Research interests span:

• Educational systems in refugee contexts
• Temporalities of waiting in migration processes
• Postcolonial pedagogy frameworks
• Racism analysis in educational settings
• Body mapping participatory methods
• Educational justice for heterogeneous populations

Her 2024-2025 publications examine educational inclusion in Chile's Lobito Refugee Camp and the criminalization of solidarity networks. Current projects include the BOND body mapping initiative (2024-2025).

She lectures on educational landscapes and ethnographic methods, with conference presentations across Germany, Switzerland, and Chile.
