Marie-Theres Findeisen

Marie-Theres Findeisen is a Researcher in the Department of History at the European University Institute (EUI). As part of the 2021 cohort, her research focuses on interwar modernities, particularly the making of 'the economy' and 'democracy' through a comparative study of housing practices in Social Democrat-led Vienna and Hamburg from 1918 to 1933/34.

Her work intersects with broader themes of cultural history, European borderlands, and transnational historical analysis. She is supervised by Pieter M. Judson and has Monika Baar as her second reader, aligning her research with expertise in European political thought and welfare state reform.
