Marie Nicolini is a Research Fellow at the Center for Bioethics at Harvard Medical School. She previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at the NIH Department of Bioethics and received a three-year research grant from the Research Foundation – Flanders (Belgium). Her expertise bridges psychiatry and ethics, focusing on moral questions in mental disorders, medical assistance in dying laws, and public health implications.
Education: MD, psychiatry residency, and PhD in bioethics from KU Leuven University (Belgium).
Research interests include ethical dilemmas in mental healthcare, legal frameworks for medical assistance in dying, and bioethical challenges in psychiatric practice. She has advised governmental bodies like the Canadian Parliament and nonprofit organizations on ethics policy.
