Marie Herget Christensen

Marie Herget Christensen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics (NorS) at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Humanities. She serves as a language psychology lecturer and researcher, with extensive teaching responsibilities across multiple academic programs including language psychology, Danish, audiology, and linguistics.

She leads innovative research applying functional grammar to examine how individuals with schizophrenia describe their auditory hallucinations and other psychotic symptoms. Her previous work on the 'Truslers sprog og genre' project investigated grammatical features of threatening communications through quantitative language analysis of a threat corpus she helped develop.

Her publication record shows significant activity in forensic linguistics and Danish syntax, with multiple publications in 2023-2025 focusing on threatening communications, sentence splitting constructions, and grammatical analysis.
