Marie Deschamps is a distinguished legal scholar and former Supreme Court Justice of Canada. She holds a law degree from Université de Montréal (1974) and pursued a master’s at McGill University. After a career in law firms and the judiciary (including roles at the Quebec Superior Court, Quebec Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada until 2012), she joined McGill’s Faculty of Law as an educator. She is actively involved in legal reviews (e.g., sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces, UN responses to abuse, medical assistance in dying) and currently serves as President of the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency.
