معرفی
Marie-Claude Robert is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine. She leads research on corneal pathologies and ocular surface diseases, focusing on artificial cornea development and anti-inflammatory biomaterials. She is affiliated with the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal) and the Réseau de recherche en santé de la vision (Vision Health Research Network). Her work includes pioneering projects such as Direct Bioprinting for Corneal Regeneration and the Liquid Cornea clinical trials.
Dr. Robert has secured grants from the Stem Cell Network, Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). She advises students like Fiona Simpson (PhD, 2022) on biomaterials for corneal regeneration. Her clinical expertise spans corneal transplantation, keratoprosthesis surgery, and managing ocular complications from systemic diseases.
Her research emphasizes translational approaches to address unmet clinical needs, such as preventing corneal melt post-keratoprosthesis and developing drug delivery systems for ocular inflammation. She collaborates internationally on trials like the Zoster Eye Disease study evaluating valacyclovir for herpes zoster ophthalmicus.
Labs/Teams: Key affiliations include the CHUM Research Centre and the Vision Health Research Network (RRSV). She leads interdisciplinary teams in biomaterials engineering and clinical trials for ocular surface disorders.
