Marie-Ange Janvier is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Engineering and an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. A certified clinical engineer (CCE) at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), she holds professional engineering licenses in Ontario and Quebec and serves as Clinical Engineering Program intern supervisor for the Ottawa Carleton Institute of Biomedical Engineering (OCIBME).

- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, University of Montreal/Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, 2011
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering, University of Ottawa, 2003 (summa cum laude)
Her research spans Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Patient Safety, and Health Sciences, with clinical applications focused on medical equipment safety and healthcare delivery optimization. Her work integrates engineering principles with clinical practice to enhance patient outcomes through systematic equipment management and safety protocols.
Scientific Awards:
- Early Career Achievement Award by the Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society (CMBES) in 2017
As Chair of the Canadian Board of Examiners for Clinical Engineering Certification and CMBES Bilingual Affairs Committee, she oversees clinical engineering standards and promotes French-English collaboration in biomedical engineering. She represents North America in the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) Council of Societies, influencing global health policy through WHO and UN partnerships. Her mentorship extends to OCIBME interns in clinical engineering practicums.
She actively supports equipment donation initiatives for developing countries, leveraging her clinical engineering expertise to address resource limitations in global healthcare infrastructure.
