Mariasilvia Tatti is Full Professor of Italian Literature at Sapienza University of Rome's Department of Modern Literature and Culture within the Faculty of Humanities. She serves as President of the Associazione degli Italianisti, Director of the Teaching and Learning Center, and Coordinator of Sapienza's International Doctoral Program with Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle. Active in numerous scholarly organizations including the International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies and Accademia dell'Arcadia, her office hours are available by appointment via email.
Her research focuses on 18th-19th century Italian literature with particular expertise in literary exile, Italy-France cultural exchanges, women's writing, and Risorgimento literature. Key areas include Metastasio studies, Goldoni analysis, classicism debates, and the intersection of literature with political movements. Her methodological approach combines archival research with theoretical frameworks examining transnational networks and gender dynamics in literary production.
Recent publications demonstrate evolving research trajectories toward digital humanities applications in literary studies and contemporary pedagogical approaches. Her 2025 works on Romanticism and Genoa's revolutionary period continue her long-standing investigation of political-literary intersections during transformative historical moments.
