Marianne Pieper

Marianne Pieper is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences since 1996. Her work focuses on migration, gender, neoliberalism, and biopolitical transformations.

• Leads the DFG-funded project on prenatal diagnostics and social change
• Coordinator for EU projects like MIG@NET and From Welfare to Work
• Founded the Center for Gender and Queer Studies (2000-2011)

Doctoral College supervises 25 projects funded by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Hans Böckler Foundation, and others, covering topics from refugee integration to postnational subjectivity.
