Professor Marianne Larsen serves as Head of the Musical Studies Program and Vocal Instructor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, a position she has held since 1996 with program leadership since 2012/2013. Born in Helsingør, Denmark, she maintains an active dual career as both educator and performer.
Her educational foundation includes formal training at Copenhagen's Royal Conservatory of Music and Germany's Freiburg University of Music, establishing the technical and artistic basis for her distinguished career.
Professor Larsen's pedagogical expertise centers on voice pedagogy and vocal performance, with specialized focus on musical theater and operetta repertoire through the Estill Voice Training Method. Her teaching integrates decades of professional stage experience from major European theaters including Munich's Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (1991-2012), Dresden State Operetta, and recent productions at Salzburg Festival and Bad Hersfeld Festival.
As an active performer, she continues to originate roles in premieres and headline major productions while mentoring the next generation of vocal artists.
