Marianna Vivitsou is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, affiliated with the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS), and the Learning, Culture & Interventions (LECI) research group. She works as a project planner for the OLIVE-Teacher Education Without Walls initiative, focusing on hybrid pedagogies, sustainability, and transformative learning.
- Research Interests: Audio-visual storytelling, new materialisms, feminist theories, qualitative methods, digital technologies in education, and sustainability.
- Education: PhD in Philosophy (Faculty of Education), Master's in Teaching Methods (Hellenic Open University), and Bachelor's in English & Greek Language & Literature (University of Athens).
Her work integrates narratology, metaphor theory, and critical literacy to develop methodologies for engaging with marginalized communities, particularly in Palestine. She has contributed to projects like OLIVE, SVEASUS, and Future School 2030, emphasizing digital tools for social sustainability. Media engagements include blogs on education in conflict zones and cultural heritage preservation.
