Mariangela Scarpini is a Junior Assistant Professor (Ricercatore a tempo determinato) at the University of Parma, affiliated with the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Industries. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the University of Bologna, specializing in Pedagogy, Theories of Education, and Social Education. Additionally, she works as a teacher on research leave at the Maria Montessori Primary School, a State Montessori Method institution for children aged 3-14, and has served as a trainer in beginner and advanced courses for educators since 2013.

Her research focuses on pedagogical innovation, cultural heritage education, and social disadvantage mitigation. She explores existential educational design in youth communities, Montessori teacher training, and hybrid learning environments like the Delivery Museum. Her recent publications emphasize inclusive museum practices and reflective teaching methodologies.
Her teaching appointments at the University of Parma include courses on Cultural Heritage and Museum Education (First Cycle Degree in Educational Sciences), Educational Support to Social Disadvantage (First Cycle), and advanced topics like Pedagogical Supervision and Service Design Coordination in Second Cycle programs. She also coordinates laboratory courses (M-PED/03) for educational sciences students.
