Marian Konstantin Gatzweiler

Marian Konstantin Gatzweiler is a Senior Lecturer in Organisation and Management Control at the University of Edinburgh Business School, where he actively contributes to the Centre for Culture, Accounting and Society (CAS) as co-director. He also holds an affiliate membership at the Usher Institute and is a member of the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Additionally, Marian has served as a visiting professor at the University of Southern California's Price School of Public Policy and as an associate (visiting) scholar at the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School.

Marian’s research explores the transformative role of quantification and metrics in shaping organizational processes, institutions, and policy responses to grand societal challenges. His fieldwork spans humanitarian crises and megaprojects, integrating organization theory, science and technology studies, and economic sociology to generate actionable insights for management and policy. His work has appeared in Organization Studies, Accounting, Organizations and Society, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations, with a current guest editorship for a special issue on Collective Action in Crisis? in Organization Studies.

Marian’s research fingerprint includes Organization Studies (100%), Performance Measurement (93%), and Multimodality (46%). He has designed executive education programs for senior civil servants in strategy execution and financial management, while advising both public and private sector organizations beyond academia.
