Maria Zackariasson is a Professor at Södertörn University, affiliated with the Department of History and Contemporary Studies. Her research spans two primary tracks: (1) higher education (including university and school studies) and (2) youth social participation in social movements and religious youth organizations.

Maria’s academic roles include teaching in ethnology and teacher education, serving as internationalization manager (2011–2015), and leading multidisciplinary graduate school career path research (2023–2024). She has collaborated with researchers like Jenny Magnusson and Fredrika Björklund on projects examining academic and societal participation.
