Maria Vega Villar Suarez

Maria Vega Villar Suarez serves as a Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Surgery and Anatomy at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of León, specializing in Comparative Anatomy and Anatomical Pathology.

Her academic foundation includes a Doctorate from the University of León (2002) with the thesis "Culture of rabbit auricular chondrocytes for their use in tissue engineering," supervised by Dr. Maximino Fernández Caso, Dr. José Gabriel Fernández Álvarez, and Dr. José María Villar Lacilla.

Research focuses span Tissue Engineering, Comparative Anatomy, Anatomical Pathology, Veterinary Surgery, and Biological Applications of Drugs through the BIOLFAR research group. Her work integrates cellular biology with veterinary medical applications, particularly in regenerative techniques using chondrocyte cultures.
