معرفی
Dr. Maria Trojanowska is a Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Rheumatology. She leads the Arthritis & Autoimmune Diseases Research Center and holds affiliations with the BU-BMC Cancer Center, Pulmonary Center, and Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying fibrosis and autoimmune diseases, particularly in systemic sclerosis (scleroderma). She investigates ECM synthesis regulation, vascular abnormalities, and tumor stroma activation. Dr. Trojanowska's work spans experimental models of fibrosis, ER stress in systemic sclerosis, and lymphatic vessel signaling. She has authored over 188 publications and secured NIH grants totaling millions in funding.
- Education: PhD from Polish Academy of Sciences, MSc from University of Warsaw.
Her research interests include ECM dysregulation in fibrosis, vascular pathogenesis in scleroderma, and therapeutic targets like dimethyl fumarate. Recent studies explore ER stress and GATA6 signaling in pulmonary hypertension. Collaborations with Dr. Robert Lafyatis and others advance understanding of scleroderma pathophysiology. Dr. Trojanowska mentors graduate students and oversees grants on lymphatic ERG signaling, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and translational research in systemic sclerosis.
