Maria Teresa Costa

Maria Teresa Costa is an Administrative Professor at Leuphana University's Institute of Philosophy and Art History (IPK), specifically within the Professorship for Philosophy of the Present. Her interdisciplinary research bridges Philosophy, Art History, and the History of Science, focusing on aesthetics, artistic historiography, and Walter Benjamin studies. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from Padua University and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions like the Leibniz-Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung (Berlin), Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte (Paris), and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin).

Her academic journey includes visiting roles at the Bibliotheca Hertziana (Rome), Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, and Tel Aviv University. She is a specialist in Walter Benjamin and Aby Warburg, serving on the board of the International Walter Benjamin Society.
