Maria Skoutaridou is a PhD candidate in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Kent, affiliated with the School of Humanities. Her research focuses on the ethical implications of liberal possessive individualism, particularly its connection to individual economic freedom and environmental responsibility. She is supervised by Dr. Iain Mackenzie and Dr. Sean Molloy. Prior to her PhD, Maria earned a BA in Theology from Aristotle University in Greece and an MA in Philosophy and Religion from the University of London, Heythrop College. Additionally, she teaches Philosophy and Sociology at A-level in sixth form colleges. Her work bridges political philosophy, moral philosophy, and environmental ethics, challenging traditional assumptions about individual ethical choices and their societal impacts.
