Maria Raposo is an Assistant Professor in Physics at the New University of Lisbon, Portugal, with a Ph.D. in Science and Materials Engineering from São Paulo University, Brazil (1999). Her research focuses on ultra-thin films of polymers and biomolecules, interfaces, nanotechnology, colloids, molecular architectures for electronics/photonics/magnetism, biomimetic membranes, and radiation effects in biological systems.
She has published extensively on graphene-based sensors, electronic tongues, and photodynamic therapy materials, with recent work addressing environmental monitoring of estrogens, ammonia detection, and breath biomarkers for disease diagnosis. Her expertise spans materials synthesis, sensor development, and biomedical applications of thin films.
