Maria Prandini

Maria Prandini is a Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and holds a Visiting Professor title. She has held visiting roles at institutions including UC Berkeley, Cambridge University, and ETH Zurich. Her research focuses on control systems, stochastic hybrid systems, and optimization with applications in transportation and energy. She has served in leadership roles at IEEE (CSS Vice-President for Conference Activities, 2016-17) and IFAC (elected President for 2026-29). She is co-General Chair of IEEE CDC 2024 and an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Network Systems and Automatica.

Her research interests span system identification, multi-agent systems, and distributed optimization. She has organized major conferences like the IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC 2021 as Program Chair).
