Maria Oliver Bonet

Maria Oliver Bonet is a Researcher at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), affiliated with the Department of Cellular Biology, Physiology and Immunology and the Genome Integrity and Reproductive Biology group. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology (2003) from UAB and a Master's in Nutrition and Health (2015) from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Her career includes postdoctoral research at Genosalut Balears (2015–2017), a Miguel Servet Investigator contract at Son Espases University Hospital (2008–2014), and early research as an FPU Fellow at UAB (1998–2001).

Her research focuses on reproductive biology, genetics, and molecular mechanisms underlying infertility and genomic integrity. Key areas include seminal microbiome analysis, sperm DNA fragmentation, antioxidant treatments for recurrent miscarriage, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). She has contributed to projects funded by institutions like the Institute of Health Carlos III and Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias.

Her recent work explores third-generation sequencing for seminal microbiota characterization and the development of novel PGT strategies for embryo screening. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing translational research in reproductive health.
