Maria Oleś

Dr. hab. Maria Oleś serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), where she leads research in the Clinical Psychology of Children and Adolescents Team. Her academic journey includes a PhD in personality psychology (1997) focusing on assertiveness in children and habilitation (2011) examining quality of life in adolescent health and illness.

Her research interests span clinical and personality psychology of children and adolescents, with particular emphasis on quality of life assessment across health conditions, assertiveness development, psychological aspects of visual impairments, chronic illness adaptation, and posttraumatic growth following traumatic experiences. She has developed specialized measurement approaches for assessing subjective well-being in pediatric populations.

Analysis of her recent publications reveals consistent focus on developing and validating quality of life metrics for children and adolescents, particularly those with chronic health conditions. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with clinical applications, emphasizing the interplay between physical health, psychological functioning, and social context in determining developmental outcomes.
